So Long Spring Break

At the beginning of break I had a HUGE list of things I wanted to get done.  I think I got one of them partially completed.  Epic Fail.  Maybe you can help me with a few??

My blog button is NOT working.  I worked my butt fingers off trying to get this darned button picture to stick and now it's broken! When you click the button it says that I don't exist! Try it out.  I'll wait........... SEE!?!?!  Stupid button.  Do you know how to fix it?  I'll give you a cookie!

I wanted to change the wallpaper around here, too.  I think it's a little too dark.  Any suggestions on colors, patterns???

That's all for me today.  I have a paper due on Friday.  Something that I should have done last week but just remembered it.  Fantastic.

Fridays Letters

Photobucket

Dear Spring Break,

Why do you have to go by so fast?  I haven't accomplished as much as I wanted to while you've been here.  Can you please stay another week?

Dear Followers Friends,

Sorry I've been MIA lately.  Between fixing up the love shack and having mid-terms last week, I've been swamped with other things.  Hopefully, when I get back into the swing of things you'll still be there ready to read the craziness of my life :)

Dear Mailbox,

Thanks for my package from Poppy and Pippa!

Dear Hubbby,

Thank you for surrendering your debit card to me the other day.  I didn't even have to ask!  How grown-up of you to not want to nickle and dime our account to death.  I love you :)

Dear Warm Weather,

Please stay.  Don't ever leave.  Ever.

Hey Good Lookin'! Whatcha' Got Cookin'?

Photobucket

Homemade Jalapeno Poppers

This recipe will make 32 mini poppers

What you need:

2 packages crescent rolls
1 package cream cheese
16 jalapenos
a couple strips of bacon

Clean, cut, and de-seed your jalapenos.  I cut them in half vertically first and then use a spoon to pull out the seeds.  Then I cut them horizontally so I have 4 pieces total.  I also wear rubber gloves because I always accidentally rub my eyes when doing this.  The gloves help me remember not to!

Next, roll out your crescent rolls and pull them apart.  Then cut them vertically so you get two thinner crescents.  Start at the fat end and layer one jalapeno square, cream cheese, bacon, and another jalapeno square.

Now roll 'em and place on a baking sheet!

Bake according to crescent roll directions.  The cream cheese should stay in place and not melt out.  Eat 'em warm!

*DROOL*
So delicious!

I won't be posting recipes for a while!  I'm going to wait till we're all moved in to our new place and then I'll be cooking up a storm!

Friday's Letters

Dear Slippers,
I love the cozy fuzziness you provide to my feet.   I look forward to slipping you on and wearing you whenever possible.  Unfortunately, due to your warm tostyness, today was the second time I have forgotten to switch you with real shoes before going to class.   This cannot happen again.  I feel like a douche walking around in your coziness.  If this happens again I will be forced to allow Hennessy to snatch and bury you like she did your predecessors.  You have been warned.

Dear High School Girl in my PSYC class,
You suck.  How dare you walk up to all of my carefully planned and posted operation beautiful stickies and loudly proclaim "LIES!"  You're lucky you are still in high school.  I was thisclose to smacking you into next week.

Dear Hubby,
I thought that I would have to do all the paint color picking and painting of our little love shack all by myself.  You have surprised me and helped paint AND pick the colors.  That's just one of the small things you do that make me love you more every day.

Dear Self,
When you're trying to be on top of things, double check to make sure are doing it correctly.  Remember those two posts you wrote and scheduled to post for this past Wednesday and Thursday?  They are really scheduled for next week.  But hey, at least now you're ahead for next week.  GO YOU!

Dear Glee,
I love your show.  I spent the last few days catching up on this seasons episodes.  I enjoyed every moment of your sing-a-long worthy songs.  I do not, however, appreciate you ending your latest episode with a truck smashing into Quinn.  WHAT!!??  And I see that your next episode will not air until April?  You're going to the top of my you suck list.

Dear Spring Break,
I am so glad you are finally here.

I am so excited to share with you my FIRST EVER sponsor spotlight!  (insert horrible cha-cha here)

Things I heart about Michelle:

90. She knows what this is:

Ok, I'm done.  Have at it, Michelle!

 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Hey everyone! I'm Michelle, and I blog at Shell Bell. I'm a lover of Jesus, mugs full of coffee, books, writing, things that make me laugh hysterically, cooking, and finding the little things in life to be happy about. I'm fresh out of college, newly married, and an aspiring writer.  My blog is all about life with my husband and kitty with some humor, words of encouragement, and a smattering of recipes thrown in for good measure (basically my attempt at becoming a domestic diva). You'll find things like dozens of pictures of my kitty, passive aggressive notes to coworkers who wear ill-fitting pants, and my panic attacks over wearing red lipstick in public. It's a good time, I promise ;) Grab a cup of fresh coffee, and let's get to know each other!

 ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Dear Michelle,
This is for you.
Love,
Trish

Smell The Roses

Lovely Little Things

The Task: Think about a goal you've been wanting to meet and do something toward conquering that goal

One of my goals:  Find a Michigan home and move out of the in-laws. (number 54)

We have officially found a new Michigan home!  HOO HA!   We won't move in until next month but it's ours!  It's a small house (a little bigger than a good sized one bedroom apartment) but that is perfect for us. Every time we've had an extra bedroom (or two) I always give in and let someone stay with us when they're in a jam.  Although I am more than willing to help a friend out, I'm glad that it will just be me and hubby.  This will be the first time EVER (1.5  years living together plus almost 4 years married) that it will just be me and him.  I'm thinking there is going to be lots of time walking around without pants just because we can! HAHA!

Our little love shack needs some work but we have full creativity!  Read: Lots-o-pinterst crafts!   Thank you to my grandparents and their little rental house!

I will be posting before, during, and after photos as we change the place up.  Maybe when we're done I'll do a vlog tour with a fancypants British accent!  Excellent!

Did you conquer a goal last week?  Link up with Jess over at Lovely Little Things!

Hey Good Lookin'! Whatcha Got Cookin'?

Photobucket

No Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars
Chocolate and Peanut Butter = Heaven
What you need:
2 cups peanut butter, divided
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar, divided
3 cups graham cracker crumbs
2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) chocolate chips, divided

Beat 1 1/4 cups peanut butter and butter in large mixer bowl until creamy. Unless you grabbed crunchy pb like I did.  Which at this point won't make a big difference.  Crumble your grahm crackers.  I used my mini processor.  You'll see this a lot in my posts.  I seriously heart this thing!

Gradually beat in 1 cup powdered sugar. We call it 10x. With your hands or a wooden spoon, work in remaining 1 cup powdered sugar, graham cracker crumbs and 1/2 cup chocolate chips.

Press evenly into a pam-like sprayed 9x13 dish.  Make sure you press really hard and that your mixture is just a tad bit sticky.  The firmer it's pressed, the better it will come out.

MELT remaining 3/4 cup peanut butter and remaining 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips in medium, microwave safe bowl.  I go about 20 seconds then stir and continue this until it is melted smooth. This is where creamy vs crunchy makes a difference.  Had I used creamy like I was suppose to...well, you get the picture...

Spread over graham cracker crust in pan. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until chocolate is firm. Cut into bars. Store in covered container in refrigerator.

Next week.....home made jalapeno poppers!  SOOOO GOOOD!!
